## Title: Technical Assistant

About the Role

An established company is recruiting for a Technical Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to the General Manager and engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including typing correspondences, reports, and other documents for the General Manager
  • Control and manage stock, engineering office files, and office inventory; coordinate ordering of office supplies
  • Supervise equipment usage and maintenance; maintain detailed usage records
  • Manage engineering crew changes for offshore crew operations
  • Contribute to vessel specification preparation and periodic asset inspections; ensure marine databases are current
  • Assist the Port Engineer with specification compilation, quotation preparation for dry docking, and dry-docking report documentation
  • Follow up on repairs and services as arranged by the General Manager or Port Engineer
  • Produce work packs for scheduled maintenance and modifications, project plans, and vessel maintenance programs; define materials and tools required for routine maintenance
  • Manage planning and coordination of periodic services, dry docking, and vessel upgrades; implement planned maintenance systems via Computerized Maintenance Management System where possible
  • Maintain records of ship certificates and follow up on class survey certificates

Educational Qualifications

  • HND or B.Sc. in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (VBA is an added advantage)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience with CAD or SolidWorks
  • Programming knowledge is an added advantage (e.g., Python, Java, SQL)

Experience Required

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a technical administration-related field
  • Experience in an engineering servicing firm is advantageous
