About the Role
An established company is recruiting a Systems Administrator responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, monitoring and maintenance of systems (hardware and software) and related infrastructure to enable continuous innovation within the information technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer server infrastructure in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Install new and rebuild existing server infrastructure
- Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage
- Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly
- Identify and promote best systems administration practices and patterns
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
- Contribute to and maintain enterprise system standards
- Perform continuous system and network monitoring
- Install monitoring agents and connect to monitoring systems
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusion and potential breach
- Ensure smooth running of all network monitoring systems for the enterprise network and core network nodes
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Provide Tier II and other support services
- Create, change, and delete user accounts on information systems per request and as required
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues
- Provide support to the application development team
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Install agents for backup systems and configure backup solutions
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
- Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
- Identify approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale
- Research and recommend innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks
