About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join as a Store Keeper. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory, tracking expiry dates, preventing loss and damage, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Ensure complete stock by regularly checking and replenishing inventory levels
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all stock items
- Organize and arrange stock in a systematic manner to facilitate easy access and identification
Expiry Tracking
- Monitor the expiry dates of all goods and ensure that products nearing expiry are identified and managed appropriately
- Implement a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system to minimize the risk of expired goods
Damage and Loss Prevention
- Inspect goods upon arrival for any damages and report any discrepancies
- Implement measures to prevent damage and loss of stock, including proper storage practices
Reporting
- Prepare and submit a daily stock report detailing inventory levels and any issues encountered
- Compile a comprehensive stock report at the close of business every Saturday, detailing all stock movements (in and out) during the week
General Duties
- Assist in the unloading and loading of goods as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area
- Collaborate with loaders to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse and safe offloading and loading of products
Key Requirements
- Secondary School Certificate or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an FMCG environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Good communication skills
