Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Store Inventory Officer to manage and oversee all aspects of our store's inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring efficient inventory control procedures to prevent stockouts and minimize losses. This role is crucial to ensuring operational efficiency and product availability for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control current inventory levels using inventory management system
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records
- Track product movement between the warehouse, store, and other units, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
- Generate regular inventory reports (e.g., stock levels, aging analysis) for management to assess performance and identify trends
- Implement and improve effective inventory control procedures to optimize stock turnover and minimize waste
- Ensure the store area is kept clean, organized, and well-arranged at all times
- Collaborate with the store head and procurement team to forecast demand patterns and determine optimal stock levels
Requirements
Education
- HND or BSc in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in inventory control, store keeping, or warehouse operations
Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with inventory management software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and numeric skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
