Senior Structural Engineer

Position Overview

Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural design, analysis, and supervision of construction projects in Lagos, Nigeria.

The ideal candidate must be a Registered Structural Engineer with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience. The role requires strong technical expertise in structural systems, design standards, and on-site execution support to ensure safety, durability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects
• Prepare structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports
• Review and approve structural designs and shop drawings
• Conduct site inspections to ensure structural works comply with approved designs and standards
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site teams
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, and MEP engineers
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Identify and resolve structural design challenges
• Review contractor methodologies and materials for structural integrity
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives

Requirements

• Registered Structural Engineer (COREN registration required)
• Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in structural engineering
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete and steel structural design
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD)
• Strong understanding of Nigerian and international structural design codes
• Experience in site supervision and quality control
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
