Senior Procurement Officer at Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa a Nigeria (EYN PROJECT)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Senior Procurement Officer to manage and coordinate all aspects of procurement for the region. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the procurement department, including purchasing of goods and services for the organization, managing orders and supplier relations, and ensuring optimal value sourcing and cost-effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities

• Identify the main types of goods and services needed based on the current portfolio of programs and operations
• Conduct regular market assessments to identify best sources and prices
• Work with peer agencies and the private sector to identify new potential suppliers
• Maintain working relationships with local suppliers
• Review all purchase requisitions, verify price targets, and ensure all specifications, requirements, and authorizations are in place
• Ensure that all requests for quotes clearly present specifications and requirements
• Receive and review all bids and prepare quotes summary sheets
• Track the status of each procurement request and provide regular procurement status reports to management and requestors
• Organize bid committees when needed and ensure competitive bid analysis
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure purchase requisitions, supplier quote responses, and purchase orders are complete and clear
• Provide support and training on procurement management to EYN Projects staff and partners
• Perform other functions as required

Required Qualifications and Experience

• HND or B.Sc. in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in procurement
• Master's Degree in the above fields is an added advantage
