Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the general accounting operations of a manufacturing company. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to analyze financial data to support informed decision-making.

Location

South/East - Northern part of Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP)
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections
• Assist in the management of inventory levels and costs
• Analyze production costs, identify variances, and recommend cost-saving measures
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, assess financial performance, and support strategic decision-making
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
• Assist with the preparation and filing of various tax returns
• Coordinate and assist with external and internal audits
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Ensure the correct costing model is followed to meet and surpass target margins
• Manage the judicious application and allocation of funds
• Assist in the management of logistics at all levels (Import & Export)

Key Performance Indicators

• Financial Statement Accuracy: Ensure all financial statements are prepared and submitted accurately and on time with a 99% accuracy rate
• Account Reconciliation Accuracy: Maintain accurate account reconciliations
