Job Summary

We are recruiting a Purchasing Officer to carry out sourcing, negotiation, selection and buying of quality food items for our outlet at local markets in and around Abuja.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor supply markets and trends, including fresh produce/supplies price changes, shortages, and supply variations, and reflect these changes in periodically raised requisitions
• Maintain comprehensive records of purchases, pricing, vendors and other important details
• Receive requisitions from respective outlets on designated requisition days
• Disburse outlet requests accordingly on disbursement days
• Keep records of issuing and requisition notes for reconciliation purposes
• Ensure that all supplies purchased meet established quality standards
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure delivery of all supply categories at agreed times, dates and quantities
• Define quality standards and costs of non-conformance with suppliers
• Proactively develop and maintain good relationships with the supplier base
• Maintain and update supplier lists, delivery times and other relevant terms
• Negotiate the best possible prices for the company through strong supplier relationships

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE certification or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years' experience as a Procurement/Purchasing Officer, preferably in the food and restaurant industry
• Ability to read and write
• Working understanding of local market terrain and techniques
• Familiarity with market trends and forecasting techniques
• Knowledge of markets in and around Abuja
