## Title: Radiation Therapist

About the Role

NSIA-LUTH Cancer Center (NLCC) seeks a dedicated Radiation Therapist to support the delivery of high-quality cancer treatment and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Radiation Oncologists and Physicists in developing treatment plans for cancer patients
  • Prepare patients for CT simulation
  • Carry out CT simulation and send acquired images for contouring
  • Inspect radiation equipment and devices to ensure they are operational and function effectively
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, procedures, and standards to prevent undue exposure of staff and patients to radiation
  • Maintain records of treatment information, including radiation dosage, equipment settings, and patient response to radiotherapy
  • Monitor patients for side effects of treatment and make appropriate recommendations or adjustments
  • Provide offline review of patient cases under supervision and make necessary adjustments
  • Dispense radiation dose during brachytherapy treatment

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum diploma or bachelor's degree in Radiography with a PGD in Radiotherapy
  • Minimum 2–4 years of clinical practice experience
  • Valid license from the Radiographer Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN)
  • Diagnostic radiography experience with interest in Radiation Therapy
  • Proficiency in English (read and write); ability to speak local languages is an added benefit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous exposure to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) fellowships, seminars, or workshops
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience in Brachytherapy
  • Previous attendance at ARN conferences or RRBN continuous development programmes
