Quality Assurance Engineer at Software Business Solutions Consulting

About the Role

An established company is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team. This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies and planning
• Own and maintain automation frameworks
• Conduct end-to-end and integration testing
• Perform performance and load testing
• Manage defects and produce comprehensive reporting
• Drive continuous improvement and shift-left testing initiatives
• Collaborate with teams and mentor junior QA professionals

Required Experience

• 7+ years in Quality Assurance or Software Testing roles
• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise-level systems, ideally in financial services or regulated industries handling mission-critical data and transactions
• Deep proficiency in automation tools and frameworks including:
  • Selenium/WebDriver or Cypress for React-based frontends
  • Backend testing libraries: JUnit (Java), NUnit (C#), PyTest (Python), or Jest (Node.JS/TypeScript)
• Proven experience testing polyglot microservices architectures, including API validation (REST/GraphQL) and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka)
• Hands-on experience with performance tools for load and stress testing
• Familiarity with security testing tools (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite) for identifying vulnerabilities in financial-grade applications
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) scripts

Required Skills & Competencies

• Analytical problem-solving with ability to methodically diagnose complex issues in distributed systems
• Clear communication of findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Quality ownership mindset with demonstrated track record of driving quality in agile teams
• Ability to achieve high test coverage (80%+) and reduce production defects
• Experience supporting frequent releases with focus on reliability
