About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Project Planner to join our team. The Project Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules, resource plans, and progress reports to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of oil and gas projects.
This role ensures alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, providing accurate forecasting, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools
- Work with project managers and discipline leads to define work breakdown structures (WBS) and establish baselines
- Track progress against schedules, highlight variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare resource loading plans and forecasts for manpower, equipment, and materials
- Support cost control by integrating schedules with budgets and monitoring earned value performance
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are realistic and achievable
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and clients
- Identify risks, delays, and opportunities; propose mitigation strategies
- Ensure planning processes comply with company procedures, industry standards, and client requirements
- Participate in project meetings, providing input on planning and scheduling matters
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 7–10 years' experience in project planning and scheduling within the oil and gas industry
- PMP, APM, PRINCE2®, or equivalent Project Management Certification
- Strong knowledge of project management principles (WBS, critical path analysis, earned value management)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or any relevant field
