Job Summary
The Procurement Intern will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and contract management. The intern will gain hands-on experience in procurement processes, contributing to the organization's operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with procurement processes, including tendering and bidding
- Support contract management and vendor selection
- Maintain procurement records and databases
- Conduct market research and supplier identification
- Help with purchase order processing and invoicing
- Support procurement reporting and compliance
- Assist with inventory management and stock control
- Perform document photocopying, scanning, and archiving of procurement files
- Receive and process incoming goods
- Ensure proper filing of all procurement documents for easy retrieval and audit readiness
- Request feedback regarding supplier performance and update supplier files
- Ensure that all supplies, services, and equipment are delivered on time
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and address any delays or issues
- Maintain and update asset inventory, ensuring accurate record-keeping for office equipment and supplies
- Assist in data entry and updating databases with accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate between the Procurement, Logistics, and Finance departments on procurement-related transactions
- Support the asset disposal process in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
- Ensure proper documentation and dispatch of field goods with required documentation (Waybill)
- Collaborate with suppliers to build and maintain positive working relationships
Requirements
- ND/Diploma or recent graduate in Supply Chain Management
