  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience of full time teaching at a progressive and/or international school community.
  • Current international qualification/ certification in teaching area.
  • Experience serving a school that is the “hub of the community”.
  • Knowledge Base
Knowledge and understanding of:
  • child development: the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of children
  • implementing inquiry-based instructional practices
  • Understanding by Design (UbD) or “backwards design”
  • standards based assessment and reporting
  • high impact research-based instructional strategies
  • classroom management and positive discipline
  • child protection and safeguarding practices
  • Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
Skills: and Aptitudes
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and communications skills.
  • IT skills; ability to use technology applications that enhance learning, communication, and school improvement efforts.
  • Commitment to inclusion and ensuring that students feel a sense of belonging.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction (scaffolding, grouping practices, choice, etc.) in order to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Willingness to make a positive difference in the lives of students beyond the classroom.
  • Ability to provide feedback that is targeted, timely, and actionable.
  • Comfort with multiple perspectives and their place within the classroom and community.
  • Results-ori ented, with demonstrated skill in using data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to relate to AISL stakeholders: students, colleagues, parents
