Medication Preparation and Dispensing

• Receive, verify, and process prescriptions
• Count, measure, and package medications accurately
• Label prescription containers with correct instructions and warnings
• Assist with compounding and preparing sterile products

Inventory and Stock Management

• Sort, stock, and label medications
• Monitor stock levels, check for expired medications, and place orders
• Maintain organized and safe storage for medications

Customer Service and Patient Interaction

• Greet customers and answer basic questions
• Provide information on medication usage and potential side effects to patients
• Direct complex questions to the pharmacist
• Handle phone calls and requests from doctor's offices

Administrative and Technical Duties

• Enter and maintain patient and prescription data in computer systems
• Process insurance claims, billing, and payments
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, laws, and safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification is often preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Computer and pharmacy software proficiency
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and medical terminology (a plus)
