Neonatologist at St. Ives Specialist Hospital

Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Neonatologist to join our medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized care to newborn babies, particularly premature and critically ill infants, and supporting their families through high-quality, compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized medical care to newborns, especially premature and critically ill infants
• Manage patients admitted into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Attend high-risk deliveries and perform immediate newborn resuscitation
• Diagnose and treat neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress, infections, congenital abnormalities, and metabolic disorders
• Perform neonatal procedures including intubation, ventilation management, and line insertions
• Monitor growth, development, and overall wellbeing of newborns
• Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Communicate clearly with parents and caregivers regarding treatment plans and prognosis
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in line with hospital policies
• Participate in on-call duties, clinical audits, and continuous medical education
• Support the training and supervision of junior medical staff where applicable

Required Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Postgraduate training in Pediatrics with specialization in Neonatology
• Valid medical license and registration
• Proven experience working in a NICU setting
