The Music Teacher at Discovering Talents Academy (DTA) is responsible for delivering engaging and effective music instruction to primary school pupils. This role involves fostering a deep understanding of musical concepts, performance skills, and creativity, while nurturing a lifelong passion for music.

The Music Teacher plays a crucial part in upholding DTA's mission to "create an atmosphere of fun where kids can enjoy being kids" and its vision to "discover and bring out the uniqueness in every child," by ensuring individualized teaching and promoting artistic excellence within the SHRID niche, particularly focusing on Singing, Harmony, Rhythm, and Instrument proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Curriculum Implementation

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons in accordance with DTA's blended curriculum and academic standards
• Implement DTA's SHRID niche, particularly focusing on:
  • Singing
  • Harmony
  • Rhythm
  • Instrument proficiency
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technology to make music accessible and enjoyable for all pupils
• Apply individualized teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs
• Set clear learning objectives and provide constructive feedback to students to support their progress
• Prepare pupils for internal and external music competitions

Assessment & Reporting

• Design and administer fair, valid, and reliable assessments (tests, quizzes, continuous assessments) to evaluate student understanding and progress
