Position Overview

The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Associate will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of institution-wide monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems at Pan-Atlantic University. Working under the supervision of the MEL Lead, the Associate will contribute to strengthening data quality, enabling evidence-based decision-making, and fostering a culture of learning and accountability across academic and administrative units.

The role supports MEL needs across the university — including academic units, student services, administrative departments, and strategic programs such as the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program — ensuring a unified approach to data collection, performance tracking, reporting, and institutional learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of MEL frameworks, tools, and processes that support institutional planning, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Collect, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from departments and programs across the university, maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity
  • Develop data collection instruments (e.g., surveys, feedback tools, assessment forms) and contribute to building digital solutions using platforms such as Power Apps, Excel, SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, or Power BI
  • Support the production of dashboards, reports, and visualisations that communicate insights clearly to academic and administrative leaders
  • Participate in learning activities such as focus groups, interviews, stakeholder consultations, and reflection sessions to document emerging themes, trends, and lessons
  • Contribute to the strengthening of institutional databases and data governance practices, ensuring consistent use of identifiers and improved interoperability across departments
