About the Role
Nile University of Nigeria seeks a highly competent and result-oriented Medical Officer with strong personal and professional integrity to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for promoting the health and safety of patients by providing proactive treatment and diagnoses, overseeing clinical trials, and maintaining high standards of inpatient and outpatient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Speak with patients to address their health concerns and conduct physical examinations to ensure optimal health outcomes
- Administer vaccinations for common illnesses and allergies
- Provide high-quality primary medical care to students, faculty, and staff, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions
- Supervise and mentor medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and administrative personnel, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services
- Develop and implement health promotion programs, initiatives, and educational campaigns to foster a culture of wellness and preventive care within the university community
- Coordinate and participate in emergency response efforts, including triage, first aid, and coordination with external emergency services, to ensure timely and effective care during crisis situations
- Provide support and guidance to students facing health-related challenges, including mental health issues, substance abuse, and sexual health concerns, by offering counseling, referrals, and appropriate interventions
- Engage with students, faculty, staff, and external partners to promote health awareness, address health disparities, and foster a sense of inclusivity and belonging within the university community
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and confidential medical records, ensure compliance with data protection regulations, and utilize health information systems effectively
