About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Medical Laboratory Scientist located in Ibadan, Oyo State. The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing diagnostic tests on patient specimens to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.

This role involves analyzing biological samples using specialized equipment, ensuring precision and reliability in test results, and maintaining compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards. The scientist works collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver timely and high-quality laboratory data that informs clinical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests on patient specimens with accuracy and precision
• Analyze biological samples using specialized laboratory equipment
• Ensure reliability and quality of test results
• Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support clinical decision-making
• Deliver timely and high-quality laboratory data

Required Qualifications

• HND or BMLS/BSc in Medical Laboratory Science, Life Sciences, or related field
• Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) or Upper Credit classification
• Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
• 2–5 years post-NYSC experience in a medical diagnostics laboratory

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in one or more areas: Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular, or Histopathology
• Strong knowledge of laboratory tests, procedures, and analytical techniques
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and digital reporting tools
• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Quality-driven mindset
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
