Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical and utility operations during assigned shifts at our Film manufacturing plant in Ibadan. The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical systems and utilities within a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably in film production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end mechanical and utility operations during assigned shifts
- Ensure uninterrupted operation and maintenance of Blown Film, Printing, Slitting, and utility-related mechanical systems
- Oversee building maintenance, utilities, and safety equipment
- Maintain mechanical equipment for blown film lines, extrusion systems, winding machines, and auxiliary equipment
- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Participate in energy optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to enhance technical competence and productivity
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Education Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an industrial mechanical engineering role
- Experience in a film manufacturing plant or continuous process industry (preferred)
Technical Competencies
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and utility systems
- Familiarity with film-specific machinery, automation, and production processes
- Understanding of energy management, safety standards, and preventive maintenance practices
- Ability to work effectively in shift-based operations
