Mechanical Engineer Maintenance– Workshop at Vagan Oil & Gas Limited

About the Role

We are recruiting a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance workshop team. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of critical rotating equipment including engines, pumps, and compressors in support of our operations.

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Caterpillar engines and generator sets (35-series and C-series)
• Expert proficiency with specialist diagnostic tools and equipment (ET, DDT, fuel pump timing, manometer)
• Demonstrated excellence in technical report writing
• Proven ability to work on engines (diesel and gas) and pumps independently without supervision

Technical Competencies

• Troubleshooting and repair of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines
• Maintenance and repair of EMSCO reciprocating pumps
• Maintenance and repair of National Oilwell reciprocating pumps
• Maintenance and repair of centrifugal pumps
• Repair and maintenance of Atlas Copco and Gardner Denver instrument air compressors
• Engine overhauls (Perkins and Caterpillar)
• Troubleshooting and repair of engine accessories (starter motors, butterfly assemblies, diesel/gas fuel systems, emergency shutdown switches)
• Preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment
• First Line Maintenance (FLM) execution
• Failure pattern analysis and trend identification with permanent solution development

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on engines, pumps, and compressors
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and technical troubleshooting
• Lead and manage technical crews for field call-outs
• Review and analyze equipment failure patterns to prevent future issues
• Demonstrate in-depth expertise in the operation and maintenance of rotating equipment in remote locations
• Support other teams for intervention activities in utility power sub-stations and operational locations
• Prepare detailed technical reports on maintenance activities and equipment status
