Mathematics Tutor at LexTorah

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional. Overview We are looking for a knowledgeable and patient Mathematics Tutor to join our academic team. The tutor will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students preparing for school exams, international tests, and general academic improvement. The ideal candidate should have strong subject mastery, effective communication skills, and the ability to simplify complex concepts for learners at different levels. Key Responsibilities

• Teach mathematics to students across various levels, including secondary school, adult learners, and exam candidates.

• Deliver engaging lessons that simplify core topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and word problems.

• Prepare students for examinations such as JAMB, SAT, GRE, GMAT, and other standardized tests as required.

• Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses and tailor lessons to their individual needs.

• Provide regular feedback on student progress and recommend improvement strategies.

• Develop lesson plans, practice exercises, mock tests, and other learning materials.

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and completed work.

• Support students with homework, assignments, and revision sessions.

• Communicate effectively with the admin team regarding schedules, student concerns, and academic issues.

• Uphold the school’s teaching standards and ensure a positive, conducive learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

• Proven experience teaching mathematics in a school, tutoring center, or exam-prep environment.

• Strong command of mathematical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly.

• Familiarity with exam formats such as SAT, GRE, GMAT, or UTME is an advantage.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work with students of varying ages and proficiency levels.

• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to student success.

Preferred Skills

• Experience teaching online using Zoom, Google Meets, or similar platforms.

• Ability to design customized learning plans.
