About the Role

A reputable and fast-growing microfinance bank in Lagos seeks a highly motivated and seasoned Managing Director. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong strategic insight, a proven performance record, and a solid educational background, supported by extensive business and operational experience within leading Microfinance and Commercial Banks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, tactical, and operational leadership to ensure sustainable profitability and measurable social impact
• Drive customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction through consistent delivery of excellent customer experience
• Lead and guide the branch team, driving customer acquisition and deposit mobilization initiatives
• Ensure full compliance with all internal policies, controls, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive performance reports at agreed intervals

Key Performance Indicators

• Achieve the bank's annual performance and profitability targets
• Foster positive customer and employee experiences
• Promote and uphold a strong culture of risk management and compliance

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in the Banking Sector (Microfinance or Commercial Banking) covering operations, risk, and sales
• HND or BSc qualification
• In-depth knowledge of banking operations, best practices, and regulatory frameworks
• Strong understanding of financial management principles and broader management techniques
• Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills
• Strong people management and relationship-building capabilities
• Good knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements
• High level of commercial awareness and business acumen
