Job Summary

A dynamic team is expanding and seeking a skilled Machinist and Fabricator for our palm oil mill operations. You will be responsible for precision machining, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of mechanical components used in palm oil mill and estate equipment. This role involves operating lathes, milling machines, and other machine tools to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient mill operations.

Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and threaders
• Manufacture, recondition, and modify shafts, bushings, pulleys, gears, bearings, and other components to specification
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications
• Carry out on-site machining and emergency repairs in the mill and plantation
• Assist with fitting, assembly, and dismantling of mill machinery such as crushers, sterilizers, pumps, and conveyors
• Perform preventive maintenance machining tasks to support scheduled servicing
• Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, parts, and materials used
• Recommend materials, tolerances, and machining methods for improved performance
• Keep the workshop and tools clean and compliant with safety standards
• Support spare-parts inventory control and assist with procurement recommendations
• Participate in safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and confined-space operations
• Mentor and train junior technicians or apprentices as required

Qualifications and Experience

• OND/HND or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or related trade
• 3–5 years of practical experience as a machinist or fabricator in an industrial or agricultural environment
• Experience in palm oil mills or agricultural processing is an advantage
• Proficient in machining operations (lathe, milling, grinding, and fitting)
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments
