Logistics and Procurement Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a Logistics and Procurement Officer to join our team at Godiya Cherished Care for Humanitarian Response Initiative (GCCHRI) in Lagos, Nigeria. In this position, you will handle contracting, transport, requisitions, inventory, and other logistics tasks while providing support to sub-offices and projects on procurement-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Support inventory management of all expendable and non-expendable items under the projects
• Plan, coordinate, and manage logistics processes, including transportation and distribution of goods
• Initiate regular warehouse physical inventory counting and prepare reports
• Provide regular submission of logistics and assets reports, particularly fleet management reports
• Follow up on pre-shipment inspection waivers and documentation from relevant shippers and authorities
• Follow up on tax exemptions from relevant authorities
• Inspect goods received to ensure quantity, quality, and approved acceptance
• Follow up on payment of goods and services invoices and bills, and advise Accounts on contract terms and conditions to ensure payments are made as agreed
• Ensure completeness and chronological filing of Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and Requests for Payments
• Provide 24-hour feedback to staff on completeness of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and prompt feedback on item delivery
• Maintain and update individual vendor files and the Manual Procurement Status Report
• Ensure new vendors and consultants complete vendor questionnaires with all required documentation and conduct background checks
• Request quotations, ensure vendors sign LPOs, and follow up on prompt delivery of items
• Manage travel requirements of staff
• Provide training and capacity building to the logistics and procurement team
• Ensure the effectiveness of the supply system and appropriate assets management
• Execute necessary contracting, transport, requisitions, inventory monitoring, and other logistics tasks
