Job Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared and served according to quality, hygiene, and safety standards. The role involves supervising kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, controlling food costs, and supporting the Head Chef in smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff
- Ensure meals are prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and safety at all times
- Monitor staff punctuality, discipline, and adherence to kitchen rules
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Assist in food stock control, inventory checks, and wastage reduction
- Report staff misconduct, shortages, or equipment issues to management
- Ensure timely preparation and service of meals
- Train new kitchen staff on kitchen procedures and hygiene standards
- Enforce compliance with hotel and restaurant policies
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of HND or BSC (preferred)
- Proven experience as a kitchen supervisor, cook, or similar role in a hotel (preferred)
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to supervise and work under pressure
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
