About the Role
We are expanding our dynamic team and seeking a talented Marine Engineer II to join our organization. This is a Level 2 position that builds upon foundational engineering responsibilities with increased technical oversight and design leadership.
Main Functions
- Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by contractors and sub-contractors to ensure execution in accordance with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines aligned with team goals, objectives, and procedures
- Assure accurate and timely communication among the team and other company functions regarding discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues
- Demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills in all technical interactions
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee testing, installation, and repair of marine apparatus and equipment
- Conduct analytical, environmental, operational, and performance studies to develop designs for marine engines, equipment, and structures
- Prepare or direct the preparation of product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics
- Evaluate operation of marine equipment during acceptance testing and shakedown cruises
- Analyze data to determine feasibility of product proposals
- Confer with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop or modify designs
- Investigate and observe tests on machinery and equipment for compliance with standards
- Conduct environmental, operational, and performance tests on marine machinery and equipment
- Determine conditions, sequences, and phases of test operations
- Maintain and coordinate repair of marine machinery and equipment for vessel installation
- Inspect marine equipment and machinery to draw up work requests and job specifications
- Review work requests and compare them with existing specifications and standards
