## Title: IT Officer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Good Neighbours Microfinance Bank in Lagos, Nigeria as an IT Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and manage hardware and software solutions
  • Set up new user accounts and profiles
  • Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all IT hardware and software
  • Maintain error logs and analyze records to identify underlying trends and potential issues
  • Manage end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processing
  • Resolve Windows OS and Microsoft Office license issues and ensure antivirus software is fully up to date
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal resource utilization
  • Stay informed on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Develop and implement data backup and recovery procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations
  • Manage security devices
  • Provide technical support to users experiencing computer or software problems
  • Train staff on banking software, cybersecurity awareness, and computer applications
  • Maintain documents and files (e.g., SLAs, receipts)
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, best practices, and user guidelines to enhance IT operations
  • Liaise with IT vendors, technicians, software providers, and ISP providers
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Information Technology

Required Technical Knowledge

  • Network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cabling, wireless networks, network switches, WAN/LAN
  • Domain controller and Active Directory
  • Firewall and VPN applications
  • Cybersecurity, data protection, and IT best practices
  • Computer network administration

Qualifications

  • OND, HND, or B.Sc degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT, preferably in a financial institution
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks and network administration
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and IT best practices
