Internal Auditor – Construction & Real Estate

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Internal Auditor to join our team at Layelle Africa in Lagos. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding company assets, ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulations, and improving operational efficiency across our head office and project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of financial records, procurement processes, and project site operations
• Monitor compliance with Nigerian tax laws, labor laws, and industry regulations
• Identify risks such as fraud, material misappropriation, and contract irregularities
• Prepare clear audit reports and present findings to senior management
• Follow up on corrective actions and advise on strengthening internal controls
• Audit all internal processes within each department
• Carry out regular visits to project sites to perform on-site audits

Requirements

• First degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years' auditing experience, with at least 2 years in construction or project-based industries
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and integrity
• Excellent communication, report-writing, and people management skills
• Proficiency in audit software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
