About the Role

The Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organization's risk management, control, and governance processes. This role involves conducting audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audit assignments in accordance with the annual audit plan
• Review the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems, policies, and procedures
• Examine financial records, accounting systems, and operational processes for accuracy and compliance
• Identify risks, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in financial and operational controls
• Prepare audit reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure corrective measures are implemented
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and organizational policies
• Assist in fraud detection, investigation, and prevention
• Support management in risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Work closely with external auditors and regulatory bodies when required
• Maintain proper documentation of all audit work performed

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Must reside in Abuja, preferably around Utako
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is highly desirable
• Proven experience as an Internal Auditor or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and risk management practices
• Familiarity with financial regulations and corporate governance frameworks
• Proficiency in audit and accounting software (e.g., ACL, IDEA, QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
