Internal Auditor at JEV Consulting

Position Overview

A dynamic team is expanding and seeking an Internal Auditor to establish and lead the audit function of the company. You will provide independent assurance that the organization's risk management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement audit frameworks, policies, and systems tailored to the peculiarities of fuel retailing, product movement, and cash management.

Key Responsibilities

Department Setup & Policy Development

• Establish the audit department's structure, scope, and reporting procedures
• Design and implement audit policies, internal control manuals, and reporting templates
• Define audit processes for stations, depots, logistics, and finance

Risk Assessment & Internal Control

• Conduct risk assessments across business operations
• Identify control gaps and implement corrective control systems
• Review existing practices for fraud risks, product loss, and unauthorized transactions

Operational Audits

• Audit pump sales, meter readings, cash lodgements, and product losses
• Investigate discrepancies in daily sales reports, tank dips, and depot loading records
• Perform surprise station audits and cash spot-checks

Financial & Compliance Audits

• Verify accuracy of financial records and compliance with statutory regulations
• Work with Finance on reconciliation of cash/bank transactions, payroll, and statutory deductions
• Monitor adherence to tax, pension, NHF, NSITF, and other financial obligations

Depot & Logistics Review

• Audit product lifting and delivery processes (truck reconciliation, waybills, and depot receipts)
• Track product flow from purchase to final retail sale

Reporting & Advisory

• Prepare timely and objective audit reports with findings and recommendations
• Report unresolved issues and control failures to top management
• Propose and monitor corrective action implementations
