HSE Officer, Bonga North Fabrication Yard at Fortis Engineering Services

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated HSE Officer to drive health, safety, and environmental excellence at the Bonga North Fabrication Yard. This role is critical to implementing the company's unified "One Team, One Yard" HSSE strategy and fostering a strong safety culture across all project execution activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive implementation of the company's "One Team, One Yard" HSSE strategy across the fabrication yard
• Constructively challenge unsafe practices among project execution team members to improve overall fabrication yard effectiveness
• Maintain close coordination with the Project HSSE Lead for advice, information, and guidance on company policy
• Drive compliance culture through implementation of industry safe work practices, including IOGP 577, LOD1 Start Work Checks, CSSS, and visible safety leadership
• Ensure timely reporting of incidents and closure of incident recommendations
• Implement the project HSE plan for the fabrication yard and support delivery of HSE trainings, including onboarding and inductions for new personnel
• Conduct planned fabrication yard HSE activities in accordance with the Bonga North HSSE Must Wins (drills, HSE meetings, LOD1 Start Work Checks, etc.)
• Collate HSE performance data and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for integration into project reporting
• Drive HSE campaigns at the worksite to improve safety culture and promote good practices
• Spend most of the time on-site monitoring work performance and coaching contractor personnel on health, safety, and performance standards
• Support review of work packs, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and other Permit to Work (PTW) inputs
• Participate in HAZID, SIMOPS workshops, and other required HEMP studies
• Provide ongoing coaching and support throughout the Bonga North Project fabrication yard activities
• Support the Project team with implementation of established HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Assist with ad-hoc HSE tasks and projects as required
