Head of Learning/ EYFS Lead

About the Role

A top employer is now accepting applications for this position. You will lead the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision and oversee the holistic development of children aged 3 months to 5 years across multiple classroom levels.

Main Responsibilities

• Promote the social, academic, moral, physical, and emotional development of each child within a safe, caring, and stimulating environment
• Oversee the full EYFS provision (Crèche, Playgroup, Pre-Nursery, Nursery 1 and 2), ensuring continuity and progression into Primary School
• Initiate, manage, monitor, and evaluate change across the Early Years team to continuously improve practice
• Ensure equality of provision across EYFS, including consistent access to resources and high-quality teaching
• Ensure parents are actively involved in record-keeping, monitoring, and reviewing their child's progress through strong family partnerships
• Manage the organisation, maintenance, and provision of materials, resources, equipment, and furnishings within the allocated budget
• Promote and maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing Early Years environment while supporting the team in delivering high-quality care
• Update all EYFS policies, handbooks, and risk assessments
• Provide professional guidance and practical classroom support, drawing on personal expertise and experience
• Act as a full member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), representing the interests of all EYFS children, staff, and parents
• Keep the Director/Proprietor updated on ongoing developments through regular verbal and written communication
• Support marketing and admissions by maintaining positive community links and communicating effectively with prospective families
• Collaborate with the Director/Proprietor in recruitment, deployment, and professional development initiatives
