Role Summary

The Head of Engineering will oversee engineering teams and ensure systems are secure, scalable, highly available, and compliant, while enabling rapid product innovation. This role collaborates closely with the CTO to bridge business strategy, product delivery, and engineering execution, making technology a competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering leadership and strategy aligned with business goals
• Platform architecture oversight including core transaction processing, payments, APIs, and microservices
• Agile delivery, DevOps, and SRE practices implementation
• Security, risk, and regulatory compliance management (PCI DSS, NDPR/GDPR, Open Banking, CBN)
• Team building, performance management, and talent development
• Vendor, cost, and infrastructure optimization

Required Experience

• 7+ years in software engineering
• 3+ years in engineering management
• Strong FinTech, Banking, or Payments background
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• CI/CD and DevOps expertise
• Hands-on expertise in microservices, REST APIs, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
• Proven ability to scale high-volume, real-time transaction systems
