Job Summary

Synapse Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Internal Audit to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our organization in managing audit functions for a growing group of companies operating primarily in the healthcare and wellbeing sector. The Head of Internal Audit will help our organization achieve its objectives by evaluating the effectiveness of governance and risk management, setting up internal control arrangements, and playing a key role in promoting good corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan financial, regulatory, compliance, and operational reviews and audits
• Coordinate work with Risk, Legal & Compliance teams and other control-related activities within Internal Audit
• Conduct financial risk assessments and identify controls in place to mitigate identified risks
• Ensure daily compliance with internal and financial policies
• Monitor all expenses across all organizations and ensure accurate postings
• Perform routine stock checks and verify that records in bin cards accurately represent stock on hand
• Ensure that costs are not overstated in all expense categories
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory policies
• Establish and maintain internal control systems to manage loss, theft, and operational risks
• Identify internal control gaps and recommend improvement measures
• Report all risk issues to management in accordance with auditing standards
• Review final accounts prepared by the accountant prior to external audit review
• Advise management on internal control issues
• Perform audit procedures to verify control operations through testing and interviewing techniques
• Analyze and conclude on the effectiveness and efficiency of the control environment
