Head, Finance at The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF)

Job Purpose

Oversee the Finance unit of the Fund, including cash flow planning, budget preparation and review, and maintenance of the Fund's financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies and mechanisms to safeguard the fund's financial assets
• Liaise with all relevant heads to develop the Fund's annual corporate budget and allocation of financial resources
• Coordinate proactive monitoring and reporting of budget positions across all departments and units
• Coordinate the development and implementation of finance and accounting policies, processes, and procedures in line with leading practices
• Identify risks and medium to long-term financial implications of intended corporate projects and initiatives, providing relevant advice to executive management
• Manage expenditure and transactions in line with the Fund's approved financial authority limits
• Ensure optimal capital expenditure and maintain sufficient liquidity to meet medium-term requirements and obligations
• Develop, articulate, and implement procedures and controls to ensure financing requirements are proactively anticipated and met at reasonable cost
• Ensure effective utilization of financial resources and achieve cost efficiency in line with business objectives
• Oversee timely and accurate generation of financial information and reports to support executive management decision-making
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the Fund's financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Stay abreast of changes and updates to financial regulations
• Continuously review the Finance department's activities and make recommendations for improvement
