Head, Business Development

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and customer-focused Business Development professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving mortgage product sales, building strong client relationships, and expanding the bank's market presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business leads and pursue opportunities to grow the bank's mortgage and housing finance portfolio
• Promote the bank's mortgage products, savings plans, and related services to individuals, developers, cooperatives, and corporate clients
• Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with customers, real estate agents, brokers, and stakeholders in the housing sector
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and monitor industry trends
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients
• Work closely with Credit, Legal, and Operations units to ensure smooth onboarding and timely loan processing for customers
• Ensure accurate documentation and submission of all loan applications and client information
• Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and performance indicators
• Represent the bank at marketing events, exhibitions, and business forums
• Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline performance, and market feedback

Required Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field
• 5–10 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Marketing within a Mortgage Bank, Commercial Bank, Real Estate, or Financial Institution
• Good understanding of mortgage products, housing finance, and the Nigerian real estate market
• Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and meet sales targets
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Customer-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
