Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to support accurate financial reporting across our retail operations. The ideal candidate will manage general ledger activities, perform key reconciliations, and provide financial insights that strengthen decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations; resolve reconciling items
- Maintain cashbook records and liaise with banks on settlement or processing issues
- Reconcile revenue from retail stores and e-commerce channels; ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Post and validate journal entries, complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations across AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets
- Support month-end and year-end close; ensure an audit-ready GL
- Conduct variance analysis and support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Prepare audit schedules and recommend process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ICAN or ACCA (completed or in final stage)
- 4–5 years progressive accounting experience, ideally in GL or financial reporting
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial controls
- Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Sage, SAP, ZohoBooks, or similar)
