Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate geotechnical site activities including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing
• Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards
• Oversee rig operators, drillers, and field teams to maintain productivity and quality
• Ensure accurate logging, labeling, and preservation of soil and rock samples
• Maintain daily site reports on work progress, equipment use, and staff attendance
• Inspect and monitor equipment condition, reporting any faults immediately
• Support engineers and site geologists in data collection and documentation
• Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards on all site activities
• Liaise with project engineers or site managers to plan and coordinate site work
• Mentor and train junior field staff on geotechnical procedures and best practices

Required Qualifications

• OND, HND, or Trade Test Certificate in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical or construction site supervision

Technical Skills

• Proven expertise in drilling operations, borehole logging, and soil investigations
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and field instructions

Personal Attributes

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and willing to work on remote sites for extended periods
• Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
