About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Food Technologist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing innovative food products, ensuring quality standards, and driving process improvements across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development

• Create new food products and recipes
• Improve existing products for taste, texture, nutrition, and shelf life

Quality Assurance & Control

• Implement processes to ensure food safety and meet nutritional standards
• Maintain consistent product quality throughout production

Sensory & Consumer Testing

• Conduct sensory tests to assess product appeal and consumer acceptability
• Visit markets and engage with consumers and customers to gather feedback
• Rapidly improve product quality based on market insights

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure all food products meet government regulations and food safety standards
• Maintain compliance with NAFDAC, FDA, and relevant regulatory requirements

Production & Process Management

• Work with production teams to scale lab-based products for mass manufacturing
• Monitor production processes and troubleshoot operational issues

Ingredient & Raw Material Analysis

• Analyse ingredients and raw materials for quality and nutritional value
• Identify potential allergens and safety concerns

Packaging & Preservation

• Select and develop appropriate packaging solutions
• Develop and implement preservation techniques for food products

Research & Innovation

• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies
• Research new ingredients and sustainability practices
• Drive innovation within the organization

Documentation

• Prepare technical reports and product specifications
• Develop and maintain process guidelines

Compensation

Salary: ₦250,000 – ₦300,000 Net
