About the Role

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring the legality and ethics of all financial activities. This position supports the organization's mission of financial empowerment through effective financial management and client account oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including processing of loan disbursements and repayments
• Prepare and analyse financial reports for management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee client accounts, ensuring they are managed effectively and in compliance with organizational policies
• Ensure all financial activities comply with legal and ethical standards
• Support internal controls and assist in recovery processes related to fraud and bad debts
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and provide financial data for strategic planning
• Coordinate with other departments, such as audit and risk, to resolve financial issues

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and accounting principles
• Strong understanding of microfinance operations, including savings mobilization and loan management
• Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills
• Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a banking environment, preferably with a microfinance or loan organization
