  • We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Finance Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. S/he would also be responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of the company's employee payroll. This critical role ensures that all staff are compensated correctly, deductions are processed accurately, and statutory payments (e.g., PAYE, Pension) are remitted on time, maintaining the utmost level of confidentiality and adherence to labour laws and company policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting and Reporting
  • Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger entries, ensuring accurate allocation.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers, ensuring proper recording of depreciation and amortization.
Financial Analysis and Planning
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by collecting data, preparing schedules, and assisting with variance analysis.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to management.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for financial improvement.
  • Assist in financial modelling for new projects or business initiatives.
Compliance and Internal Controls
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Manage petty cash and employee expense reports, verifying compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all Nigerian labour laws, tax regulations (PAYE), and statutory requirements (e.g., Pension Fund Administrator contributions, NHF, NSITF).
  • Prepare and process timely remittance of all statutory deductions to the relevant government agencies and third-party providers.
  • Calculate and prepare filings for relevant taxes (e.g., VAT, withholding tax) as required.
  • Generate accurate payroll reports for management review, expense analysis, and financial auditing purposes.
  • Handle year-end payroll procedures and generate relevant tax forms and payment summaries for employees.
