Finance Assistant at New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP)

Position Overview

New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP) seeks a dedicated Finance Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the finance team. This 6-month position offers valuable experience in NGO financial management, budgeting, and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with financial data entry and record-keeping
• Support budget tracking and financial reporting
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Participate in financial analysis and planning
• Support financial documentation and compliance requirements
• Assist with audit preparations and financial reviews
• Manage petty cash and cash box on a day-to-day basis
• Prepare payment vouchers for cash and cheques
• Ensure timely settlement of all undisputed invoices
• Facilitate and assist Finance Officer with cash and bank reconciliation
• Process payments using accounting software
• Ensure adherence to NFDP policies and proper document filing

Required Qualifications

• ND/Diploma, BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
• Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks)
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
