We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening. About the Role
  • We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Farm Accountant who is passionate about field operations and hands-on financial management.
  • The ideal candidate will function as the financial backbone of the farm, managing both company accounts and farm operational accounts, with responsibility for cost accounting, petty cash administration, and daily financial controls.
  • This role is best suited for a proactive individual who enjoys working closely with operations, understands how finance drives productivity, and is comfortable working on-site within a dynamic agricultural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily farm operational accounts, including cost tracking for seeds, inputs, labour, fuel, logistics, and field activities
  • Administer and reconcile petty cash, ensuring proper documentation and financial discipline
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management review
  • Maintain accurate inventory, cost sheets, and expenditure summaries
  • Support budgeting and cost-control measures for farm operations
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely processing of vendor, labour, and procurement payments
  • Liaise with farm supervisors and operations managers to verify field transactions
  • Implement basic internal control measures to safeguard company assets
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure compliance with financial procedures
  • Assist with payroll inputs for farm workers (attendance-to-payroll validation)
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
Requirements:
  • OND / HND / BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Strong hands-on accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing
  • Experience in cost accounting or operational finance is highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a field-based environment
  • Solid understanding of petty cash systems, internal controls, and documentation standards
  • Excellent attention to detail, discipline, and numerical accuracy
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Professional Qualifications:
  • ACA / ICAN / ANAN certification or part-qualification
  • Training or experience in cost accounting, management accounting, or stock control
