## Title: Fabric & Production Materials Shopper – RTW Factory

Position Overview

A dynamic team is expanding and seeking experienced fabric and production materials shoppers. This is a growth opportunity for professionals with a proven track record in fashion procurement.

Position Details

  • Positions Available: 2
  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday with flexible hours (market-dependent); occasional Saturdays when production demand is high
  • Accommodation: Available

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience
  • Proven experience buying fabrics and production materials for fashion houses or ready-to-wear (RTW) brands
  • This role is not a training position – candidates must arrive with established expertise

Compensation

  • Monthly salary: ₦70,000 – ₦100,000
  • Performance-based review possible after initial months

Core Responsibilities

Fabric Sourcing & Market Operations

  • Source unisex fabrics suitable for RTW production, couture, asoebi, and structured garments
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of Lagos fabric markets, including Tejuosho Market and Oshodi Market
  • Station in markets as needed and navigate confidently between suppliers
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

Fabric Knowledge (Non-Negotiable)

Required expertise in the following fabric types:

  • Crepe
  • Silk
  • Asooke
  • Cotton
  • Linen
  • Suiting fabrics
  • Blending fabrics for structure versus flow

Must understand:

  • Fabric behavior after washing
  • Fabric suitability for specific garment types (shirts, pants, dresses, blazers, jumpsuits, skirts)
  • Quality assessment and durability standards

Creative & Advisory Role

  • Regularly introduce new fabrics to the production team
  • Recommend appropriate uses for each fabric type
  • Assess suitability for mass RTW production versus limited couture lines
  • Advise on color trends and texture combinations
  • Evaluate fabric durability for repeated production cycles

Cost Control & Negotiation

  • Negotiate competitive prices without compromising quality
  • Prevent overpricing, substitution, or fabric downgrade
  • Understand and work within factory budget limits
  • Maintain accurate cost documentation and supplier accounts
