Equipment Operator Trainee at Tincan Island Container Terminal

About the Role

Tincan Island Container Terminal is expanding and seeking a motivated Equipment Operator Trainee to support the safe and efficient operation of cranes within our terminal. You will be responsible for lifting, loading, offloading, positioning, and moving heavy cargo and containers while ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures to support uninterrupted terminal operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and place containers, cargo, and heavy equipment as assigned
• Strictly adhere to safety procedures, lifting standards, and load charts
• Maintain safe working areas during crane operations and coordinate with riggers and signalers
• Record daily operational logs and report abnormalities, breakdowns, or near misses
• Execute assigned jobs within agreed timelines while minimizing idle time and rework
• Carry out other related tasks assigned by the line manager

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of a BSc or HND from a reputable university
• High level of physical agility, including the ability to bend, climb, and work in outdoor environments
• Medical fitness for the role
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
