About the Role
Halifield Schools is recruiting an Elementary Teacher to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's academic and personal development in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote high academic standards in pupils' performances in accordance with approved benchmarks
- Develop short and long-term plans to ensure each child works towards set learning goals
- Prepare well-planned lessons that provide high-quality learning experiences while considering each child's individual learning profile
- Mark exercise books promptly and provide necessary corrections
- Conduct regular and timely assessments of children's academic and behavioural progress to identify gaps for remediation
- Set targets relevant to each child's needs to address academic gaps and support development
- Maintain open communication with parents through communication books and report serious issues to the supervisor for prompt resolution
- Promote the welfare and safety of children in your care
- Maintain proper records including daily attendance, diary entries, and daily reports (illness, absences, accidents, incidents) and submit promptly
- Ensure the classroom is a safe environment with secure equipment and awareness of children's specific needs
- Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Supervisor/Head Teacher in accordance with school objectives
Required Qualifications
- First Degree in a relevant field
- Teaching Qualification, PGDE, or PGDCE (Job Specific Certification)
- 3 years' work experience

- Grounded knowledge of the Integrated Curriculum
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Proficiency in computer use with knowledge of technological advances in education
