Economics Teacher (IGCSE) at Greensprings School

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Economics teacher to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to secondary students following the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Economics lessons following the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with curriculum requirements
• Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Monitor and assess student progress through assignments, tests, and examinations
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
• Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning
• Support students with additional learning needs or provide extension opportunities
• Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and school improvement initiatives
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment programmes as appropriate
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other administrative tasks
• Uphold the school's policies and ethos regarding discipline, safeguarding, and professional conduct

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Economics or a related field
• Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) – preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience teaching Economics at the IGCSE/secondary level – desirable
• Familiarity with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) specifications
