Economic Security (EcoSec) Generalist II at ICRC - International Committee of the Red Cross

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Economic Security (EcoSec) Generalist 3, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the ICRC's EcoSec programs to address the needs of people affected by conflict across the Maiduguri Area of Responsibility (AoR).

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all relief activities within the Maiduguri AoR
• Analyse the security, socioeconomic, cultural, and political environment as it relates to ICRC operations
• Guide and support the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) in data collection using the household economy approach to identify economic security gaps and develop scenarios
• Analyse EcoSec core components (food consumption/production, living conditions, income support, and capacity-building) to identify response options and assess the appropriateness and feasibility of cash versus in-kind aid
• Contribute to designing beneficiary registration methods
• Establish and maintain a network of interlocutors including community members, leaders, local authorities, and NGOs; regularly update and share interlocutor lists
• Support weekly planning for NRCS focal persons and volunteers
• Prepare internal field trip reports and quarterly reporting documentation
• Integrate accountability best practices to beneficiaries throughout the program cycle design
• Ensure proper methods, planning, implementation, logistics, and reporting during aid distribution activities
• Conduct mid-level qualitative and quantitative data analysis
• Develop results summaries and produce data visualizations
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with NRCS focal persons and volunteers, ensuring branch representatives remain informed of ICRC activities
