Early Years Educator at Millie's British International School(MBIS)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Early Years Educator to join our dynamic team at our Early Years department. You will work with children ages 3-5, delivering high-quality education in line with the British Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach phonics, early mathematics, and literacy with clear understanding of appropriate teaching strategies
• Support young learners with handwriting skills development
• Engage children and extend their learning through play, enabling their emotional, social, and educational development
• Deliver innovative and dynamic lesson plans that meet the needs of all children
• Produce and maintain high-standard, age-appropriate classroom displays
• Create stimulating classroom and outdoor learning environments that promote independent learning
• Demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
• Maintain effective classroom management and safeguarding practices

Required Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: B.Ed, BA, BSc, HND, or PGDE in English, Early Childhood Education, or related field from a reputable university
• Diploma or certificate in Montessori Education
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role
• Understanding of the British Curriculum gained from working in an early years setting

Required Skills and Attributes

• Creative skills in music, dance, drama, art, and crafts
• Excellent English language skills (written, reading, and spoken)
• Proficiency in basic computer skills such as MS Word and internet usage
• Strong classroom management and teaching abilities
• Confidence in engaging children and fostering their development
• Enthusiasm, innovation, creativity, and dynamism in teaching approach
• Appreciation of the importance of safeguarding in educational settings
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally

Location Requirements

Must be resident in Ibadan and live within commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan.
